Author Guidelines
Journal of International Health and Nursing(JIHN) follow a double-blind peer review process. Authors are required to submit an anonymised main document and title page separately. Please ensure that the main document does not contain any identifying information about the authors, including names, affiliations, acknowledgements, or other personally identifiable details.
1. Publication ethics
Authors must strictly observe the ethical standards of publication as defined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Falsification or fabrication of data, plagiarism (including the duplication of an author's own work without proper citation), and misappropriation of work are unacceptable behaviours. Any breach of ethics will be taken seriously and will be dealt with in accordance with the COPE guidelines.
2. Conflict of interest declaration
When submitting a paper, each author should disclose any direct or indirect financial interests or relationships, or other circumstances that may raise questions of bias in the work reported or in the conclusions, implications or opinions presented - including relevant commercial or other sources of funding, personal relationships, or direct academic rivalry, either by the individual author or by the department or organisation concerned. When considering whether a conflict of interest or relationship should be declared, consider the conflict of interest test: are there any arrangements in place that would be embarrassing to you or any of your co-authors if they arose after publication and you failed to declare them?
3. Instructions for submitting and preparing articles
- Manuscripts should be written in English only. Manuscripts submitted in other languages will not be accepted. Authors who are not native English speakers are strongly advised to verify the English text before submission.
- The Editorial Board will only accept papers submitted through the electronic editing system. Registration of papers is done according to the system guidelines. Management of the editorial stage and contacting authors is done only through the editorial system. The author's email address is used to confirm that the paper has been received by the Editorial Office and to provide information about the stages of the editing process.
- Papers must be anonymous to reviewers; therefore, all information identifying the author of the article should be removed from the text, references, footnotes and bibliography.
- Including abstracts, figures and tables, empirical articles should not exceed 20 A4 pages (1800 characters per page (including spaces)) and review articles should not exceed 30 pages.
- Papers should be prepared using a Microsoft Word text editor and follow the criteria below:
4. Composition of the paper:
- The title page (separate) should include: the full title of the article, the abbreviated title (up to 60 characters including spaces), the first and last name of the author(s), the ORCID (Open Research and Contributor ID), the author(s)‘ affiliation (name of the university, city, country), and the main author(s)’ correspondence email address);
- The article body should include:
- Full title of the article;
- Abstract (max. 250 words), divided into the following sections (in experimental papers): aims, methods/methodology/design, results, conclusions;
- 3-6 keywords in English (keywords should not be repeated in the title of the paper);
- The main text.
5. The body of the experimental paper should include the following sections:
introduction
Here the author presents the topic of the article and describes its purpose.
Literature review
Dedicated to presenting the key literary resources (referenced or used) that contributed to the research. It surveys scholarly articles, books, and other sources (e.g., dissertations, conference proceedings) related to a particular issue, field of study, or theory, providing a description, summary, and critical evaluation of each work. The aim is to provide an overview of the significant literature on a given topic.
Methodology and Procedures
The research methodology describes the implementation methods used in the study. Methods are described clearly and in detail.
Results and Discussion
The results are closely related to the data contained in the tables and graphs and should be presented in a logical and consistent manner. In this section, authors should discuss the results obtained and the results described in their references (except those mentioned in the literature review section), emphasising the novelty and importance of their paper.
Conclusions and Recommendations
The original purpose of the paper and the hypotheses presented must be kept in mind to avoid vague statements and statements that are not supported by the results of the study, and to be clear when proposing new hypotheses.
Acknowledgements.
Here, the authors list the people and organisations that have contributed to the preparation of the paper, acted as advisors or provided financial or technical support.
Conflict of Interest
Authors should declare any conflicts of interest.
Funding:
Mention the parties (institutions or individuals) who funded the conduct of the study.
References
Please adhere strictly to APA format 7th edition. References must be in English.
In-text citations should be in APA format and list the ‘author’ and ‘year of publication’, e.g. ‘(Tang Junyi, 1984)’. Page numbers are not required if they are not direct quotations from the original text. Full information on references should be given in the ‘References’ section at the end of the document. Please note that for convenience, APA format usually requires only the author's surname. However, this can be confusing for Chinese papers, so it is recommended to include the full names of the authors.
Citing Chinese sources: APA format must be used when citing Chinese papers. After translating the APA format of a Chinese reference directly into English, add a DOI or URL after the APA citation to verify the authenticity of the reference, as Chinese references are not easily searchable.
Prior to printing, authors will receive the paper in PDF file format for acceptance. Authors are obliged to notify editors who accept the paper for printing immediately. Only minor revisions will be accepted at this stage.
JIHN permits readers to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full text of their articles and to use them for any other lawful purpose. The journal allows authors to hold copyright without restriction. Finally, the journal allows authors to retain publication rights without restriction
